Kevin Pietersen to lead the Royal Challengers of Bangalore. RCB is now stronger than before.

Vijay Mallya, the owner of Royal Challengers of Bangalore (RCB), said that Kevin Pietrsen will lead the RCB team during the first half of the series. Pietersen will be missing the second half due to his other commitments. Jaques Kallis of South Africa will lead the team after Pietersen leaves. Mallya said that the decision about captaincy was made consulting Rahul Dravid, whose presence for the IPL is doubtful since he is expecting a baby from his pregnant wife at anytime. Mallya also added that his team was weaker in the batting department in the previous season and this time with the inclusion of Jesse Ryder, Robin Uthappa and other explosive batsmen, the batting line-up is much stronger. The batting and bowling coaches of the team have also been changed.
Mallya clearly said that IPL will not be cancelled at any cost, as too many stake holders are involved in this. When asked about the fixtures and match dates, he said that, after the BCCI meeting today there would be much clarity about IPL dates.
