Tata NANO launched today

Atlast, Tata Motors have launched today the world's least expensive car, Nano, whose price starts at about Rs 1 lakh. The snub-nosed Nano is 10.2 feet(3.1 metres) long and has one windshield wiper, a 623 cc rear engine, and a dimunitive trunk according to the company's website. It does not have air bags or anti-lock brakes, neither of which is required in India. If you want air conditioning, a radio, or power steering, you will have to pay extra.
The car is arriving six months late because of violent protests by farmers and opposition political party leaders overland. Most analysts doubt the company will be able to make more than 50,000 cars in the next year - a far cry from the 250,000 the company had planned to roll out initially.

Kevin Pietersen to lead the Royal Challengers of Bangalore. RCB is now stronger than before.

Vijay Mallya, the owner of Royal Challengers of Bangalore (RCB), said that Kevin Pietrsen will lead the RCB team during the first half of the series. Pietersen will be missing the second half due to his other commitments. Jaques Kallis of South Africa will lead the team after Pietersen leaves. Mallya said that the decision about captaincy was made consulting Rahul Dravid, whose presence for the IPL is doubtful since he is expecting a baby from his pregnant wife at anytime. Mallya also added that his team was weaker in the batting department in the previous season and this time with the inclusion of Jesse Ryder, Robin Uthappa and other explosive batsmen, the batting line-up is much stronger. The batting and bowling coaches of the team have also been changed.
Mallya clearly said that IPL will not be cancelled at any cost, as too many stake holders are involved in this. When asked about the fixtures and match dates, he said that, after the BCCI meeting today there would be much clarity about IPL dates.

Yuvan replaces Harris for Ajith's ASAL

ASAL is the next movie for Ajith under the banner of Sivaji Productions. Ajith is paired with Sameera Reddy. Saran is the director. Previously, it was Harris Jayaraj to score music for this movie. Now it has been said that Yuvan Shankar Raja will replace him and score music for the movie. The reason is said that Harris Jayaraj is making delay in composing songs.
Already there were talks like, if A.R. Rahman moves to Hollywood, the competition would be between Yuvan and Harris. And this news proves the same.

Jade Goody has just hours left - Her last moments

The former 'Big Brother' star Goody's publicist, Max Clifford said: "We're waiting for the inevitable, it could be at any time, we just don't know. She has put her house in order and faced up to everything in an incredibly brave way."
Yesterday, Jade was visited by her two sons, Bobby (5) and Freddy (4) at her Essex home. Her husband Jack Tweed and her mum Jackiey Budden were also in attendance.
In a heartbreaking meeting with her two young boys, Jade explained to them that “Mummy’s going to heaven soon”. She said: "I'm going to be a star up in the sky so when you are looking up you will be able to see me and know I'm there, always looking over you. Mummy's going to be up there looking over you. Close your eyes and you can talk to me."
And in a further example of the gallows humour that typifies the brave young star, she is reported to have asked her mother Jackiey to buy her a lottery ticket.
Goody has already made full arrangements for her funeral, which she hopes will be a “celebration” of her life. It is expected that thousands of fans will line the streets to see her cortege pass through the streets of Bermondsey, and then out to the churchyard of St John the Baptist in Buckhurst Hill, where she will be buried.
Max Clifford added: "She wants it to be a big celebration because it's her final farewell. It will be a very Jade Goody event, exactly the way she wants it."

Dying Jade Goody's last wishes

British reality TV star Jade Goody has signed off to the public with an emotional interview with the press.
Goody, 27, the terminally ill former U.K. Big Brother contestant whose very public life and declining health have become an obsession with the British public, spoke recently about her hopes for her two young sons when she is no longer there for them. "I have always believed in God and heaven, and I want my boys to know that when I do go, I am safe and looking over them," Goody said. Goody's sons don't yet realize the full ramifications of the cervical cancer that has spread to her liver, bowel and groin. "I'm not sure they know what dying means, and in a way I don't want them to know the full ins and outs," she said in the interview, billed as her last. "I will be the brightest star in the sky for them, always looking over them and protecting them," she said.
She is trying to use some of the publicity to highlight a campaign backed by the U.K. cervical cancer charity called "Jo's Trust" to lower the age at which young women can get testing to help detect the disease. Already, charities and doctors are reporting a massive increase in those seeking information.
She told the press that she wants to be known as "the one who irritated and entertained people in equal measure and the girl who put up a fight and would never let herself get beaten down."

IPL tournament is scheduled to begin from April 10, 2009. But IPL commissioner Lalit Modi moved to calm players' security fears. "From the minute a foreign player lands at the airport to the minute he leaves India, we will be in charge of his safety and security," said Modi. Modi revealed South African firm Nicholls and Steyn will take charge of player security during their six-week spell in India, but refused to disclose the cost of the operation.
England batsman Kevin Pietersen - who is scheduled to play for Bangalore Royal Challengers - said he would not compete in the tournament if adequate security measures were not in place, while new Zealand all-rounder Jacob Oram also expressed similar doubts. But Modi said he has spoken to both players and explained the intensive security arrangements in place. Congress buys the copyrights for 'Jai Ho' song

Indian National Congress(INC) has bought the copyrights for the song "Jai Ho.." from Slumdog Millionaire. INC has bought it for canvassing and campaigning purposes for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. News has come that INC bought the song for a huge sum of 1 crore rupees. Congress believes that, this song can bring votes in favour of them to win the elections. Since this song is famous in every corner of the country, Congress has chosen this song to reach people easily. Politicians must understand that, people no longer vote for songs or shows but for what they have done to people and their promises. Songs and shows can bring the votes of illiterates only. Politicians must realise that rate of illiterates in India is very low and most among them will not even vote. So politicians must show something in their deeds and service to people, rather than adopting these kinds of silly strategies like buying songs.
Anyways, lets see whether "Jai Ho.." does any magic for Congress.
